Acas has published its 2023–24 annual report. Acas reports that for the 12-month period from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024:
• Acas was involved in 618 collective conciliations (between employers and groups of workers), a slight reduction from 621 in the previous 12 months, with a 94% settlement rate. Pay was the leading cause of the disputes;
• Acas assisted in 33,500 individual conciliations with 72% of disputes resolved before an employment tribunal application;
• 39% of individual conciliation cases settled at the Early Conciliation (EC) stage;
• Acas received 578,463 calls to the Acas helpline from employers and employees (70,716 fewer than the previous year), with discipline, dismissal and grievance being the top topics.
